What are you thankful for?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 05, 2009:
I am grateful for the many intangible joys in my life. I've been neglecting many of them because I've been concerned with the monetary and material. Money has been tight (as it is for many currently) and that has been stealing my focus. This weekend I had an opportunity to spend time with my extended family and friends. I appreciated their company and conversation. I'm so proud of my mom, who demonstrated this weekend what a gifted singer she is. I spent time in deep contemplation and prayer, and rediscovered the joy of connecting with my Higher Power. I'm so grateful to have a vibrant spiritual life. I let go of someone I'd been holding too close, and found the willing love and support of my friends. I am grateful for the reminder that the balance of my bank account is not all I have to be thankful for, and that I should pay attention to all those other blessings.

Help

Glad you've discovered the important things. Sometimes families can help you put things into perspective, even when you think they are so far away at times they help you put life into perspective. Monetary value is priceless, you cant buy love. I see you let go of an attachment, so did I. It helps not to get to close to someone and to discover your own inner beauty. There is so much out there and I'm sure you have so much to give. Enjoy and remember today is the first day of your life.
Wonderful! Your support group seems to be well in place and your Higher Power never left. The economic spin has left a lot of people gasping, I'm one of them, but I've noticed a real change in values, The Gap doesn't love you as much as your dog, and your friend needs you more than your bank. The shift in worth is changing from dollar signs to trust and faith. Blessings and smiles to you!
